Are you ready? The Fall Product Sale Program is here! This year’s program encourages girls to construct plans, create opportunities, and capture their dreams. Design Your Future supports girls as they draw on their creativity and ingenuity in concrete, visible ways - all while gaining financial literacy. Girls work together to create a blueprint of their troop’s goals for the year.

Product sales programs assist girls in developing self-confidence. The five important skills that girls "learn by doing" through product sales are

goal setting
decision making
money management
people skills
business ethics

Proceeds from the sale support First Aid certification for one adult per troop; equipment for Girl Scout facilities; troop start-up support; and destinations scholarships.

This training is for girls in grades 6-12 who would like to work directly with younger girls under the supervision of an adult volunteer or staff member. As we start the school year, we here at The Birthplace are very excited to announce our line-up for our Brownie Days at The Birthplace programs. While the Heritage Visits we offer throughout the year focus on programs for Juniors and older, we reserve five weekends a year for our Girl Scout Brownies. Attached you will find the information about the Brownie Day programs. If you know of leaders with Brownie troops, please pass this information along to them. The September Brownie Day only has a few slots available, and the Christmas program will fill quickly once the school year starts, so please let them know to act quickly. Below, you will also find some fun holiday events that are going on in Savannah the weekends of our Christmas programs that could possibly complement a Girl Scout troop’s trip to Savannah for Brownie Day. On-time membership registrations are due to your Service Unit Registrar, CDM or area Girl Scout Service Center by October 1.

Reminder for returning troop leaders: If you haven’t already completed the two troop reports that were due on June 15, you must do so before you can resume your role as a troop leader:

The Annual Troop Financial Report, which summarizes your troop’s financial activities, must be submitted to your CDM along with a copy of your troop’s most recent bank statement.

The 2010 Troop Leader Summary and Evaluation (online survey version OR online pdf version), which summarizes your troop’s activities - and gives you the opportunity to reflect on your role as a troop leader and provide feedback about the various council services - can be completed electronically or you can submit a hard copy to your CDM.
